This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Schenectady is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Schenectady is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Had a really good meal at The Ruck in Schenectady. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, and it was fresh, flavorful, and a great portion size. Their beer selection on tap is fantastic, with plenty of options to choose from. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and Dave, the owner, was incredibly friendly and inviting, making the experience even better. The service was excellent, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Stopped in last Friday. Enjoyed the wings very much.... possibly best I've had. The falafel was really good. The chicken Caesar salad was great as well. Our server, Caleigh was personable, on top of everything, and even suggested a couple beers I've never tried before. We'll surely be back again and again. Good luck in Schenectady!

Decided since I was downtown I would go to the new Ruck². I'm not much of a beer drinker but I will when I have to. Got me an IPA of some sort - decent. A gentleman ordered a beer so I asked what it was. He told me, sounded good so I ordered one after my second drink which was a mojito (I asked if it was a mix since to me it tasted like a bottle mix but was told it was their own mix) - I was not a fan. The second IPA was Other Half. Now this I can definitely get with. To me it smelled like the devil's lettuce but tasted like it was mixed in a citrus bowl. Recommended. The main reason I went was for the Thai Peanut wings and I was NOT disappointed. They were cooked to perfection and that sauce....... amazing!! I can eat that on everything (slathered on a burger!!)!! The cook asked me if I wanted Melba sauce but I said it's too sweet for me. He did bring me some and I tried it. He was definitely right that it was perfect for the wings. Music was good - staff and service on point. Will be back since I love those wings and there are a few other appetizers I want to try.

My sister and I checked out The Ruck2 tonight, and it was fantastic! The food was cooked perfectly! We asked for our wings extra crispy, they were, and not over cooked. We had the buffalo garlic parm and Thai peanut, both were delicious. The best wings we’ve had in a while. And loved the blue cheese dressing! We also had the Pickleback Burger, with their hand cut fries, cooked as ordered, also delicious. And our server, Caleigh, and manager, Patrick, were awesome! Very welcoming and friendly. We’ll definitely be back! 10/10!!
